Olive's collar.

Do you ever just feel like skipping over the sleeves and moving on to the collar?
I did just that...I know the horror...it's like reading the last page of the book...

(the colour is way off in this photo...the true colour is eggplant, like in the photo a couple posts ago)

I just needed something different to do. So I will finish the collar...all the while wondering if I will have enough yarn to make the sleeves...then move on to the sleeves.
Normally, I would have blocked the fronts and back then joined the shoulders for working the collar. But, because the collar is so big, I figured it could use a good blocking too.

Really coming along nicely! (I'm 'glad' I'm not the only one who has troubles with photographing reds and purples. I have yet to figure it out. :-)

It's crazy what a camera can do to the color of your knitting. Your sweater is looking amazing so far. Can't wait to see it done!

You are a brave soul - maybe you can get more yarn! I love the truer colour better, but your knitting is perfect no matter the colour!

Oh my gosh you are a crazy knitting fool! How do you do it so fast! I know I know in the evening. Darned me! I have been trying to get to bed early and my knitting is suffering.

I am loving the jacket, just gorgeous. Isnt it great to do something a bit different after all the ribbing. I sometimes do that as well, only I do it on baby items.

Looks good! The eggplant is beautiful (and I can't believe it came out such a completely different color!) Is it Karabella Aurora 8? I've never seen such a gorgeous, deep eggplant, and I must knit SOMETHING with it!

Since I live in a perpetual hot flash, I would be tempted to make the sleeves lace LOL. That should save some yarn!

I love that sweater. I have a weakness for stripes and ribs. Kind of a cruel irony, to be too short and *ahem* round to wear them to good effect.

Beautiful! As for your question, "Do you ever just feel like skipping over the sleeves and moving on to the collar?", yes, I do it all the time.

I consider it good technique.

In order to try a sweater on and get the sleeve length just the way I like, the neck line needs to be stabilized with the collar.

Smart move. Then if you're short on yarn you can make 3/4 sleeves.

Justification is everything.

It's looking beautiful. I like that colour too, but the eggplant is luscious.
