Firstly...a little eye candy for Friday...
I found a copy of VK and was able to flip through it quickly...there are some goodies.
AND another yarn sale at Knit One Purl One, one of the LYS here in Windsor...15% off all instock yarn for the next couple days. So, why not pick up some of that new Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK?!
Jedi Carolyn here, knitting away on the stars wars hat.
I had to play around with charting a little bit, but finally came up with something.
I found the chart HERE. There are some great fair isle charts, if you are interested.
Some star patterns, another R2D2 chart and then some decreasing.
May the force be with me...
FYI Some have asked if I knit continental...Nope...I am an English thrower. I think I throw quickly...but I have seen others much faster.
I have yet to study combined knitting, the way Grumperina knits. It is on my list of things to try, maybe after the Christmas knitting is complete.
Hey, how about SPM (stitches per minute). I will time myself when throwing and also when knitting fair isle (using both english and continental) and come up with my SPM.
What is your SPM?

I'm so happy I stopped by your blog today. My daughter would love a star wars hat. I'll have to check out those charts right away. Your projects are inspiring.
ooh now i have to go flip through the new VK! and i'm loving your star wars hat. my hubby will be jealous.
I just looked through the new VK last night - some lovely projects in there! The Star Wars hat is great!
that hat, i must try! so inspiring you are! of course i don't think my yoda impression is as effective but i love your R2 hat!! I must knit that up for my boyfriend, he would love it!
I love the Star Wars hat! Do the words go around the hat once or twice?
I think I agree with Grumperina that I'm obsessed with reading your blog!
SPM? Oh my, I am so not going to tell you that. I think more in terms of how few misknit, misshaped, skipped, dropped or tangle stitches per minute.
I'll check it out (my SMP), but in the mean time, I wanted to compliment you photography and your knitting. Mention by a superblogger is a blessing as well as a semi-curse, huh? Kind of like trying to sell your house, so you have to keep is super clean all the time. Knit more, Carolyn, knit faster!!
Hi Carolyn, first time I read your blog! my spm: 120 st. per min. Yes! I'll attempt to break the GWR next Saturday, august 26. Wish me luck?! p.s. I do knit continental style in an very akward and plain manner.
Love the hat! SPM? That would be SPD (stitches per day) at my house. Three kids, two cats, four chickens, an infantile husband (all men are helpless to varying degrees)combined with trying to move make knitting but a mere memory. Sigh.
What a great model for your hat!
Thanks so much for the chart link! Yours is looking great.
