Loll Progress

I am having horrible thoughts about "Loll". My gauge is suddenly off. I think it is the Calmer pulling it in? Is this even possible? I made a swatch people...gauge was on. I mean it is really off. I decided to block what I had so far to size on the schematic. That requried stretching...which I shouldn't be doing. It still is 1 1/2" smaller. Will it fit? Maybe...

Here is the lovely shaping I did

So now what? Do I continue and stretch the crap out of it.....I know, I know. Don't even say it. I don't want to hear it.

Here is "practical sock" progress:

Nice little cable down the side...perfect for black boots in the winter! I turned the heel correctly this time. I still have a hole at the gusset....even though I picked up an extra stitch and knit them together on the next round. Any sock knitting tips to solve this?

If you got gauge with the swatch, then I suspect that it's the yarn. Could you try blocking it yet again?

Stick with the socks little sister.
Put that sweater in the washer on hot, spin it up a little and it will all work out. Sorry I can't help you I am still working on the scarf you taught me how to do last time I saw you in the winter. Knit one, Pearl one.

I have to say that I'm not sure what the gauge issue is, but the shaping looks superb! Props to you for figuring out how to do it correctly!

That sock is adorable!! Love it. When I had problems with holes in the heel, I just sewed them up afterward.

Hmmm, not sure what to do with the calmer. I've never used this yarn. The shaping looks so great. But if its not going to fit, and its going to bother you, you know what you've got to do...

As for the socks, I've yet to find a good way to get rid of that hole at the gusset. Recently, I've been knitting socks tightly, with smaller needles, and that seems to help.
