Did I leave the iron on?

You know it has happened to you...well at least it happens to me all the time now.
I can't remember if I have done something or not.
Did I leave the iron on or unplug it?
I need to visualize myself doing things. Sometimes I am not sure even then because you do things so often it is hard to remember if you did it today or not.
So as I walked out the door of the guild meeting last night...just after talking to a fellow knitter about Cat Bordhi's SSK method...I couldn't remember if I fed the hungry stitch for the last time and then knit it.
No. No I didn't.
I don't know why I forgot...but I know I did. I knew something was wrong.
I confirm such mistake this morning...and decided to drop that stitch.

hungry stitch

A few minutes later I picked up that last stitch and pull it back up.
Don't forget that last step! I surely won't on the next pair.

Oh, no! I feel your pain!

The only thing worse? Vowing that you'll pay more attention from now on, then doing it AGAIN!!

Speaking of not remembering, did I say this already? I messed with the Hungry Stitch, and the Through the Back Loop on alternating rows, etc., 'cuz I also hate the wonky look of SSKs -- then I just settled for knitting the alternate row SSK through the back loop and it's quite good enough for me. Makes a nice neat line. Maybe not nice enough for a sweater, but for a sock toe? It's going to be INSIDE A SHOE!

Wow, all I did was knit the tail on my long-tail cast on. When there is so much else going on around you, it's hard to pay close attention to what you are doing.
