Minor set back.

If you are not a mom, you may want to skip this one...

Ok, we are up and running again.
I was going to post about my lovely sweater that is complete! Just waiting for buttons....then Matteo really wanted me to build a firetruck out of lego. I found instructions on the lego site and we took the lap top down to the lego table to build.
He was really clingy and tired...pale...you see where I am going...
That was the hint for me...the mom.

Yeah, I just finished cleaning the BARF out of my keys...mainly the arrows in the right bottom corner of the keyboard.
The smell...oh the smell.
The lego...oh man.
The play rug is now in the garbage...horray for laminate floors.
I can still smell it...and lysol...and rubbing alcohol...mmmmm.
how do I get rid of the smell...this might need a professional cleaning!

I love being a mom...I love being a mom...I love being a mom....

Hey MA are you feeling ok?? Don't worry, you won't catch this one and it won't ruin your trip to disney...
Oh yeah, FYI Lucca had a little bit of the "trots" the other day...I thought maybe it was something he ate....hmmmmm. Do you think they disinfect the school table in kindergarten? Cause I am thinking NO. They don't.

I feel your pain. I actually threw away a very expensive car seat once because the thought of cleaning it made me want to barf. I would dunk both of them and everything they have touched in the past few days in a vat of Lysol. Ewww, as a matter of fact, I might just go do that with my three for good measure!

I'm in the military and once, after picking my daughter up from daycare and lifting her up for a hello kiss, I was greeted with a nice barf shower...all over my newly starched uniform. I had an awards luncheon that day and had to wear my service dress, complete with ribbons and tie tabs. Yeah, all of it had to replaced. Ahh, motherhood...

Oh no! What a trooper you are. I hope your little guy is feeling better now that he has it "out".

Well, pet mom's also experience this pain. I'm very familiar with vomit. Sad but true. May I suggest cleaning (soaking) item/s with pet enzyme cleaner. It works for us in cleaning our pet's vomit of a number of surfaces.
Only thing that gets the smell out.

This virus going around is super human! It just wont go away. My daughter woke me up at 4 am the night before last to clean vomit out of her bed. YUCK! Her brother threw up in his bed a few weeks ago and didn't even wake up. If not for the horrible smell I may not have seen it till the morning, can you imagine.

The only thing worse than cleaning it up is the anxiety you have waiting for them to do it again.

Ah, vomit. I'll never forget the time my son was in bed with me, rolled over, and threw up. all. over. my. face. May yours be well again soon.

Sounds like the sweater made it out okay?

Gah! Awful. My mum used to put our legos in one of those dishwasher baskets with a lid and run them all through on a super wash cycle. Let's just say I was also a super barfy kid.

Vinegar will help get rid of the smell. Legos can go in either the dishwasher or into the washing machine in a laundry bag/net(frontloaders I know for sure, toploaders I don't know).

My son has barfed in every store in town. I swear! He's just a gaggy kid.

Clean up in Aisle 4. Ugh!

Hi, Sears runs a relatively cheap but effective cleanning service as well as deodorizing for large jobs. Febreeze works good on small stuff. As for you....Cold FX daily as maintiance, lots of fluids for you...kids will get sick and often, how you teach them to deal with it makes all the difference in the world...if they are smart/old enough to go to the toilet on their own, teach them to hit a receptical wehter a garbage can, sink or toliet if they are feeling sick. And tell them to wait for it if it's not happening right away. It's a little work...however when you have to change sheets, clean up a mattress in the middle of your beauty sleep, you will discover that it is worth the effort to teach them that. Good luck

On our drive back from Vermont on Sunday my tired, clingy and pale son was plopped in his carseat for a nap. When he woke up he proceeded to spew forth the contents of his stomach three times. We were still in Vermont and Connecticut was very far away. It was a very good trip until that point. I hope your kids are on the mend.

There's nothing like cleaning up barf to make a person feel like a parent.
Sorry your little one is sick.

Hope everyone is feeling better--very bad flu going around in North America (it appears) this year. My son (now 13) was one of those babies with reflux (yup, projectile vomit at almost each feeding). Every bottle consumed was an exercise in preventive measures. I basically travelled with a many changes of clothes for him AND a change of clothes for me. That year Proctor & Gamble had its highest reported earnings from all my detergent consumption). The memory that lives on is how he "showered" a party full of kids that were pulling strings on a pinata. One poor girl thought the vomit came out of the pinata!! (sure I can laugh now.)
Good luck

Thank goodness my boys are old enough to clean up after themselves. But we all did barf duty back in the day.

I'd second the suggestions for using the enzyme cleaner sold for pet cleanup. Nature's Miracle is one brand, but some of the big box pet stores have a similar thing in a house brand that is cheaper. Febreze also astonishes me with its effectiveness. Good luck!

Ug!! So sorry you had to deal with that.
