Moving right along with more accessories to be knit for fall...
I recently picked up "Weekend Knittng" with a 50% off coupon. It's got some interesting designs in it. Simple, quick knits...great patterns for using up some stash.
I decided to continue with my quest of knitting the stash and make some fingerless mitts.
They are quite simple. Garter stitch with a little short row shaping and a hole for your thumb. I am using some extra Jo Sharp silkroad tweed DK in Boheme. I LOVE tweed...it's so fall!
They knit up quite quickly...like a big swatch...well, a swatch with some short row shaping and a hole for your thumb:)
AND, when you finish one...it can warm one hand as you knit the other!
Where are the socks? I know, I know...I have been looking through patterns...nothing is really grabbing me. I do want to knit atleast a couple pair for christmas gifts. I think the fact of the matter is that nothing in my stash matches any of my choices. I may have to break down and buy some yarn;)

I love fingerless gloves. I started crocheting a pair about a year ago and forgot about it. I found it the other day and will have to finish it soon. The color is really nice.
What a perfect stash-busting quick gift idea. I think I'd prefer to make some in the round so there's no seam afterward -- but it's a very short seam anyway!
I all about socks and finding the right pattern for the right yarn - have fun! There is soooo much great stuff out there...alas, not enough time for all of it :(.
I made these same mits a couple years ago and I use them all the time. There is also a great pattern in Last Minute Knitted Gifts - I have made them quickly for friends. Enjoy!
Makes me want to knit a pair too!
