Grumperina saves the day.
You saw her post right? She is one of my absolute favourite knitters. A thinker...this girl is soooo smart. Always on the right page...for me.
You know I don't have the time now. NO time to think about knitting. That is why you get the boring posts of late with the photo and the one sentence. I just don't think about knitting as I used to....have faith...I will again.
Anyway, my projects aren't always working out as they are supposed to...yeah, go figure.
I don't have the time to think about the problem and I don't even want to "do it over". So those projects are being unjustly pushed aside.
Well...Grumperina gave me a glimmer of hope. This is fixable...really.
So here is olive as we speak....the first UNFINISHED project of 2007.
Yeah...those lumps...that's a 24" zipper.
And look at it lying flat...
Problems all around.
So, I will attempt a 22" zipper. I think after measuring 23" would be ideal, but I will end the 22" just shy of the collar...that should work.
Cross your fingers...

and I thought I was the only person who had this problem. One of my cardis actually gets an "erection" as i wear it. Grumperina will help save that sweater too! Thanks for making me feel not so alone.

That sweater has a lot of promise, and doesn't look half-bad even with the zipper you have now! It will probably be even better with a shorter zipper!
I've now put my zipper in 4 times in my Drop Stitch Cardigan. Sigh. Maybe a smaller zipper will be the key. The sweater is lovely!
Yaaahhhh for hope! You can do it!
Fingers and toes crossed for you with the zipper. You can make it work.
What a gorgeous sweater!! =)
Your title cracked me up!
Best of luck with Olive...
Oh wow, that is really pretty - I love the collar. Fingers crossed that you can get the zipper issue settled.
You can always cut the 24 zipper into a 23. Just cut at the top!
How Great! I love blog synergy :-) Your cardi looks great, and will look even better post zipper reconstruction!
Good luck -- I know you can do it!
Fingers crossed!
I love the sweater though!
i've put in a zip before and i think due more to good luck rather than good management it all worked out ok.
however, grumperina post gave me alot to think about for next time.
that cardi is looking fantastic already and i am sure with a new zip it will be absolutely perfect
Grumperina is the cats' meow, isn't she???? Three cheers for her and her braininess!!!! And that color looks great on you!!
I have yet to attempt a zipper in a garment. Looks like a little to short of a zipper is better than too long.
GOod Luck with the 22", it is such a beautiful sweater, that it is worh the re-sew. :)
Lovely sweater. It will look even better when you change the zipper, but it's wearable as is! Wear it open, heh.
Well at least we see what a gorgeous sweater it is and you will find it the right zipper. It is worth the trouble.
