Enough to make your head spin...

There are some serious sales right now...end of season stock kind of sales.

I keep looking at those BIG bags that are out...hmmm. I carry this small purse that holds a wallet, a phone and a lipstick. I would never be digging around in my bag looking for perfume, some socks, a bottle of water...or whatever it is that people carry in those big bags.

Well, at 40% off...I think I could find something to carry in a big bag...

Knitting, of course;)

(Yes this is a sad way to show the little progress in knitting lately.)

Let me also tell you, I timed my SPM again...this time sitting up.
46 spm.
What a difference from lying down!

So, at 206 sts a row right now, that is 4.48 minutes to knit a row and approximately 35 minutes to knit an inch.
Man oh man.
*There is 8 hours left of these 206 sts!

Unless of course I lie down to knit...that's 5.15 minutes a row and 40 minutes an inch...that is *8.64 hours left in this section.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

But of course, we don't think of knitting that way.

* Not including any stitch fumbles, turning your work and working 2 sides at once.

knitting fast is cool, but you have to ENJOY it!

That yarn is beautiful, and your work is gorgeous! I just want to know how you manage to lay down and knit? I've tried, and it just doesn't work for me.

You just have to think about it like this: WOW, at least 8 WHOLE HOURS to play with this gorgeous, fabulous yarn, doing something I love! YAY!
;-) Did it work?

If we thought about it in terms of hours per project, we might go a little bonkers. I just spent . . .oh probably well over 20 on a baby sweater. A baby sweater. If that were @ minimum wage. Can't. Think. Like. That. Hours to play with yarn = yes, much better answer.

I thought I was quick, but I think I knit a LOT slower than you. I'm working on the same secret project and you don't want to know how many hours I've put into it..

Just think, you get to enjoy knitting without having to buy any more yarn for at least 8 more hours! And that is gorgeous yarn, too!

Too funny! I can just picture you knitting lying down!
Nice purse or knitting bag! I am hoping to take my knitting bag with yarn and circular needles on West Jet in 10 days. Wish me luck!
Good speed for a knitter, poor speed for a typist!!

I refuse to worry about SPM. That takes all of the joy and relaxation out of knitting. If I want to knit that fast I'll buy a knitting machine.

I think if I got out the timer I would probably just quit from depression. People ask me, "How long to knit a pair of socks?" Do I really want to know? I think I'm happier not knowing. But I gotta know this: please define lying down. Reclined with head propped or actually lying down as in bed? A photo would be lovely. :)

That yarn is so beautiful, can't wait to see what the project is!

Big bags are great, especially for knitting projects!

My husband and I calculated that, based on roughly how long it takes me to make a pair of socks and the hourly rate at which my accounting firm bills out my time, said pair of socks is approximately
.
.
.
.
$20,000.

As they say in the commercials, priceless.

I try not to think about how long it will take me - I guess I'm just not motivated when I hear how many thousand stitches or minutes are left to go :0)
