Check out the hat pattern for my nephews...
Chris is so excited. He loves the holes for the mouth and eyes and how you can fold it up if you don't want it over your face.
This should be a fun knit. I do have to find a superwash soft wool. I can't knit anything hand wash for this household...I have seen the felted projects!
Speaking of which, I must go get the laundry moving. More to come once I find the right yarn...maybe a trip to the LYS today.
Notice the line in the pattern...YOU MUST USE THE EXACT YARN SPECIFIED IN ORDER TO BE SURE OF SATISFACTORY RESULTS. LOL I love it.

Cute! I've just started using some of the Knit Picks Swish that I ordered and I'm thinking of using it for kid hats. It knits up quite well, I think!
I was thinking Swish too. It's soooo soft. However, I have not done the wash test.
Hey Carolyn!
Have you seen the brand spankin new Valley Yarns Superwash at WEBS? I think they just started carrying it. Check it out here:

(If you use it, I'll expect a review... ;)
Mission Falls is a nice and soft superwash....
How cool! What book is that?
awesome hats!
are you going to include the adorable poms on the top?
That's great!
I HAVE this pattern book- it either belonged to my mother or to my grandmother- I love it!
OMG!! Those are exactly what I've been looking for.. Where did you ever find the patterns? I need to find them!
Hey, I have that pattern book - GREAT hats in it. Those Debbie Bliss cashmere-ish yarns might be just right for it, nice and soft.
I have this book as well and I made that hat :)
Oh.My.Gosh. Are these just the coolest???? I cannot even possibly think of a time I would need to wear one here in San Diego, but I think I gotta have one anyway!!!! Maybe I could wear it into my bank and cause all the tellers to run for their 'bank robber in vicinity' buttons.... You must divulge the book name....
My son saw my husband's vintage balaclava and says now he wants one. My son is 6 and hates wearing knitted things, except a hat and mitts I made him. I remembered that I had seen a picture on a blog of an old Patons pattern and that I actually have that pattern. But I can't find it now. I thought I knew which book it was, but it's not that one. Can you tell me which book those hats are in. Oh, I see you've been asked that a few times already, LOL. At least I can see that it's worsted weight yarn so I can start stash diving...
Yes! Please share this awesome pattern. Thanks!
