Here it is Tom...happy belated birthday!
I must say that I look like Kate Winslet here...no? Very weird, I've never noticed this!
This hat is very hard to photograph. I have tried for 2 days...I know Tom will send me a fabulous photo of himself wearing it!
Started: November 20, 2005
Finished: November 30, 2005
Yarn: Laines Du Nord Dolly Maxi in Ebony x3 balls. This is a very nice merino wool. So soft and bouncy...like DB cashmerino aran...or Zara...very nice. I am not sure on the wear of it yet, I will let you know how the hat holds up.
Pattern: My own! And I will have it available for those that may want it...
It is simple. Knit top down in the round. Casting off for the front and back and working the ear flaps at the same time.
Here is a sad photo of me trying to show the length of the ear flaps...
And my favourite...different ways to wear it Tom!

Aaaww, you are so cute! And damn, you are getting thin. Love the hat. I'm sure Tom will love it too. Nice work coming up with the pattern.
The hat looks fab!! And so do you -- so svelte! :) I really like the top you're wearing. Great color.
Very nice. Can't wait to hear how Tom likes it.
Fantastic hat! Love that the flaps are worked at the same time, too. Can't wait for the pattern.
Genius! Scarf and hat, all in one.
What a cool hat. You did an awsome job.
OMG..you look sooooooooooo good..you really have been hitting that elliptical machine.
and the hats nice too!
never mind my post in the pattern page, looks nice. I'm making one for my brother in law out of crazy colored yarn. And yes you do look like Kate Winslet.
I love all your hats - they are so adorable. Thanks for all the photos. There's nothing as helpful as actually seeing the finished project. We have a website dedicated to hats with earflaps and we're collecting photos. I'd love to include yours with the looooong flaps! They're the longest ones I've seen. Visit us at Sylacauga Phlaphappies and let me know if we can include your photo.
Thanks!
