The next chapter...

My mojo's back.
Finally! I am human again.
You see, I didn't tell you the cliff hanger at the end of the last chapter. It was just too much...so shocking...sort of a bump in the road...it took my knitting mojo. But now that I have made it through the worst of it...we can read on to the next chapter.
I know I have said that "the kitchen is closed". I am done, done, done. Well...
I guess I was wrong. I didn't offically close the kitchen by removing the appliances.

It seems there is an italian bun in my oven.
Yup, that's right.
A BABY!
Hmmmm. 37 yrs old. The youngest is now 6...that's quite a spread. I really wasn't sure about this. It took three months and an ultrasound to make it real...there's no denying it!

I must say I am quite excited to knit for a "knitters baby". I can knit something out of a handwashable wool! There is an appreciation here. This baby will be decked out in handknits. I was only a beginner when the boys were born...oh think of the possiblities now!

Booties!

Oh my!

Look out...I'M BACK!

    A baby, yay!!!

I have a 6 year-gap between second and third kids, and while it was challenging in some ways to go back to babyland, it was also really helpful to have the older one so much more independant.

  39. Congratulations!! I hadn't wanted a big spread between my kids, but my oldest and youngest ended up being 5 1/2 years apart. In some ways it is AWESOME to have older kids that can dress and potty themselves and get their own breakfast. But I also know how my little brother feels about being the 'caboose'.
My number one suggestion for moms with a 'big' gap like that is Freecycle! And number two is babywearing! I don't know how old your oldest is, but he's probably old enough to wear a newborn too! Amy Butler fabrics make great slings!!

  47. congratulations!!! I have two older brothers (9 and 10 years older), and one younger brother (two years younger). I never felt alone when I was little, and my parents always had a baby-sitter :P Of course, I don't know if older brothers really make the best babysitters, but I made it!
