Things are flying off the needles around here with very little time for blogging about them. Here is the latest FO...The Sunday Brunch Jacket and Retro Bonnet.
Started: December 11, 2008
Finished: December 18 2008
Pattern: Sunday Brunch Jacket and Retro Bonnet from Sublime #600
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK
Adjustments: None really. Many thoughts on the pattern though. The bottom edge rolls a bit...which is fine but I would maybe trim with more garter stitch rows. The arm holes are a little large for the sleeve size and you have to ease the sleeve in...which is not necessary in a baby knit. I would make the hole smaller or sleeve wider to compensate for that.
You really need to know how to make appropriate decrease and increases especially in the collar.
The collar...well is an interesting construction.
I wasn't sure if I liked picking up the stitches from the right side...I debated taking it back and picking up from the wrong side. After blocking it looked fine. You also cast on stitches to be sewn to make the front of the collar...again after blocking it looked fine, but if I were to knit it again, I would source a different collar design.
I would also add another button hole...there is too much space between them.
I did knit a different flower for the bonnet.
Other than that...it looks gorgeous!
As you may have noticed I printed up some cards on cardstock to attach to the swatch. I thought I would add in the swatch, should any darning or repair ever need to be done. As well, it hold extra buttons...and...it just looks pretty! A little snowflake hole punch and a piece of scrap yarn to tie the card to the swatch and voila!
Another knit complete!

What a gorgeous knit, and it looks so incredible boxed up the way you did. I love the idea of including the gauge swatch.
That's beautiful and the same for the packaging. The little extras end up being so big.
