Recycle.

This was a first for me...recycling yarn.

It was actually a very early knit that I never checked gauge on. Yeah, that'll teach you!
It went into a pile of knits to one day "fix"...hmmm...some of us know that pile too well. I love the yarn, Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk. It is so soft and the colour is gorgeous.
Well, she gets me every time that Debbie. Her new magazine is beautiful...there are a couple of goodies in it that I would love to knit. I decided to start with the Cabled Beret. That would entail ripping back a project, soaking the yarn and hanging it to dry.

recycled red

Hey, that was not so hard!
(please no comments on the purple room...the main floor is just about done...then I will tackle our purple room. The purple walls and doors...the purple flower border and that seriously purple rug...)

The Beret was really a simple and quick knit.

LOVE IT!

Started and Finished: October 2008
Yarn: Debbie Bliss alpaca silk in red
Pattern: Cabled Beret from Debbie Bliss' premiere magazine.
Adjustments: none.
It is so sexy...so oo la la!
I know that you are noticing that the last few projects are all shot in the same spot. The lighting was good...and I had a few moments. I grabbed the finished pile of knits and away I went! There are a couple more to come...including DEMI!
More next week...have a happy friday!

Way to reuse! I'm sure ripping was somewhat painful but it turned out great!

Welcome back!! I've always enjoyed your posts: just like Grumperina & Brooklyn Tweed- a lot of great inspired knitting, great pics, and very little blah blah about too personal stuff! Thanks.
I need to ask: are you still working? Now that I'm working more hours, and I also have 2 kids (older than yours, though), I am barely getting through the projects before my poor eyes glaze over. Please advise.

Please copy the beret pattern for me for our next girls knitting weekend. It would be a perfect gift for Rita...when she's on yard duty.
