Tatami Kimono Sweater

I am a little late on the reveal....

Started: August 16, 2006
Finished: September 6, 2006
Yarn: Sundara's Sport Merino burgundy over raspberry
Pattern: Tatami
Adjustments: I did knit it as is for the purpose of test knitting. Then, I shortened the ties and tied on the inside of the sweater and then on the sideseam on the outside. I didn't like the ties all wrapped around me. I find it more flattering this way.

The pattern was simple to knit. I do love knitting all in one piece....but for some reason it seems to take longer.
The yarn is absolutely fabulous. I am so grateful to be able to do some test knitting for Sundara...you would have to be crazy to not work with this yarn!

Tres sexy, daaaahling!! Alluring without screaming "Here comes a knitted skanky ho!" the way that, unfortunately, some like to display their outfits.

You described in your answer to my question about time management that you used to weigh a bit more than you do now. I hope that you can look at this picture and burst with pride at how beautiful you are.

Technically, I like the pattern a lot. She must have taken some inspiration from the Clapotis, no? The yarn is a lovely choice, too. Non-pooling, subtle in its effect and well suited to the pattern itself. An excellent job - and I agree with others re: the ties.

Sometimes I feel pretty sad about not being able to wear such a thing because I'm a guy....and even though I'm gay, I'm not considering cross-dressing any time soon. ;-p

  35. Thanks so much for pointing out that this was knit on Size 5s, I'm totally going to do it now! I honestly think your version is the prettiest sweater I have ever seen. And I love your urban aran, someone in my SNB group is knitting it out of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted in Charcoal and it is beautiful.
