Lime green and black.
Hmmmm...lime green is not easy to find. I found "leaf green" which looked like a wearable lime to me!!

I am using patons classic merino. It is a good basic yarn...not too expensive incase a mitt gets lost or ends up in the wash (this stuff felts!)! I think I will go get some more of this yarn...it is one sale this week 50% off at Michaels craft store. This manly mittens pattern is quite easy to knit. You could really make a mitt in a night...it took me a couple nights to complete one.
I didn't see it as 50% off at Michaels. I got some of it at 30% off....
ReplyDeleteI love the green.
Nice color combo. I might have to add this pattern to my holiday knitting plans.
ReplyDeleteI used that yarn on a plain vest I made for my dad and it suited him just perfectly. He loves it. I think the color was called Tree Bark. It is a nice grayish, brownish, green color that isn't totally solid, so even though he requested that I make him a totally unfancy vest it still looks quite nice and as though there is a little texture to it. (He had a vest that was gray and black and it was too vibrant for him--such a crazy guy)
ReplyDeleteOoo, I love me some Patons Kroy! The mittens are looking great.
ReplyDeleteNice mittens, I may have to make my way over to Micheals.
ReplyDeleteHE IS GOING TO LOVE THEM... CAN I SHOW HIM THE PHOTO OR WILL THEY HAVE TO BE A SURPRISE? I HATE TO SEND THEM TO SCHOOL THEY MAY NOT COME HOME!!
ReplyDeleteCK
Awesome mitts--this is the first time I've seen something that makes we want to learn to knit intarsia -- how difficult is this to do??
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's just me, but I can't see any of your picures anymore! It says "upgrade to pro"
ReplyDeleteJust an FYI
I can't see any of you pictures either :(
ReplyDeleteI love mittens. I just finished up some pirate mittens for my son. Yours are beautiful. I love that your family appreciates your craft so much that they make requests at christmas time.
ReplyDeleteLime Koolaid makes white Paton's Classic a nice lime colour if you are up for fun with dyeing.
ReplyDeleteThose are nice mitts.
I can't see your photos anymore either. Neither can my sister. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteI'v always loved your photos--they've led me to projects I might never have chosen. But I can't see them anymore. I think it might be beacuse you changed to "photobucket," which could be incompatable with some browsers (?). I see others have the same problem. I sure would like to be able to see them again....
ReplyDeleteAfraid I have the same problem of some of the others. I can't see your last image. I'm getting 'upgrade to pro', too
ReplyDeleteHey, where did your pictures go?
ReplyDeleteI can't see your pictures. That makes me sad!
